I found a Take Down model at Foxhole Guns and Archery in Gainesville Ga for $319. Called and put down a deposit to have them hold it for me since I was working today and could not get there before they closed. I am going to go pick it up tomorrow.

Picked mine up last weekend, really like it so far. Curious if the barrels that I see on eBay are compatible. I'd love to change it out for a stainless bull barrel. Same for the trigger units. Paid 349.

I picked up a standard yesterday and put my suppressor on .Went outside to shoot it and the safety bolt came out. Ruger is sending me a complete trigger assembly. I asked if I could pay the difference and upgrade to the bx trigger. They said they could not do that. Than they said they would send me bx25 magazine for my inconvenience. They said they have seen that happen on some 10/22's before but not the charger.I think it is going to be a cool little gun. Does anyone know if the bushnell ar 1xmp will work on the charger? palmetto has it on sale for about $63.00 shipped with the code bushnell10.I missed out on the trs-25 when they had them on sale.

Went to my LGS with the intent of buying a Sig Sauer P938 and what was sitting on the counter? Lo and behold! A Ruger Charger TD! Well, the story has a happy ending as I went home with 2 guns this weekend! The case has a foam liner with a block you can remove for a red dot or small scope and still use the case.

As to those that ask why? General plinking and diversity in a gun collection! Wouldn't a bunch of plastic guns be boring?

Just picked up my new Chargers. Showing pictures of both of them just because the wood is different on them (all the pictures I've seen show different patterns and coloring).

One Charger has a larger gap between the takedown sections. On the bottom of the barrel there are some words "FOR USE........." (haven't removed the stock to see what the entire sentence is .....but anyway, on the Charger with the larger "gap" you can read the letters "FOR U" and a little part of the "S". On the Charger with the smaller gap you can read "FOR US" and most of the "E". So it looks like the front stock is installed a little differently on the barrel which results in a smaller or larger gap. Just an observation.

I put on the Aimpoint H-1 just for the pictures, don't know where that will be mounted yet (moved forward or backward) but will figure that out at the range. I'm going to try out my Clearidge Ultra RM 3-9x scope on one of these to see how I like it and if I do, I'll purchased a scope for the second Charger and keep the Aimpoint on the other.

I won't be able to shoot until next Tuesday and then I'll post my thoughts. I don't like the bipod but that's only because I have a couple of Harris bipods that have the "notches" in the legs which I like better. And my Harris also have a swivel lock. But having the gun come with some type of bipod plus a thread protector is nice for those that don't already have those accessories.

Charger with larger gap

Just put a deposit down on a Charger TD. $329 for the TD. They have sold 4 so far and the next one is mine. They had a regular Charger in stock for $259, but I already have a legacy Charger that I shoot and love. Now to start gathering parts for the build I have in mind...

Since it's a pistol, i wonder if anyone will make a snubby barrel for it...

I was able to pick a TD model up for $339 OTD. I was at Shooters buying some ammo and I saw it in the corner of my eye. Since every time I go there and spend too much money, I left my debit card at home and only took cash...good thing I had enough for a deposit...will pay it off on Friday and shoot in my backyard that afternoon.

I picked it up today... Then I took it apart. I'm not liking the factory stock, so a custom stock is in the works.

This, IMO, is what the Charger always should've been. I love the takedown model, but I really wish it were offered in Walnut instead of laminate with green.

If I were still able to buy a new gun (as in available funds), the takedown would be on my list, even with the funky green and brown stock.

Good going, Ruger. This and the new lightweight CMD aluminum frame have shown once again that Ruger listens to it's customers.

Here is a pic of my Charger. I like the thing a lot.
Just plain old fun shooting.

Also a pic of a 10.22 tac, I got alone with the Charger. Also a very good shooter.

I guess I am the odd duck out! Have always liked the older charger, just never could convince myself to buy one, then they discontinued. Saw the newer models, and reinforced my like of the original! So, went on Gunbroker, won the auction, and now own LNIB original charger! Soft Ruger case, bipod, original box. Can't decide on optic, will probably put on a red dot for now(have a couple of midrange priced ones on the shelf). I know I will enjoy shooting it, for years I have plinked with a Contender 22LR, with bipod and Leupold 2x-kind of a Single shot version of the Charger!
