Got mine today! The place I got it from had both kinds but I elected for the standard version. $260 for the standard, $400 for the TD. I put a TRS-25 on it. Right away I can tell the rail/sling swivel will have to go. I will just put on a lower profile rail section. So far I'm pretty happy with it.

WOE IS ME......my takedown came in today and I went to go pick it up and my car wouldn't start!!!!! Took me from 4pm to 7:30pm to get roadside assistance to jump it, call the dealer and set up a loaner car, leave my car off and get back home.....and all I could think about the entire time was my poor little takedown sitting at the dealer and how I wasn't going to get to play with it tonight.

Not sure I can get away to pick it up tomorrow and they are closed on the weekend and then I am busy Monday as well.

I CAN'T STAND IT..........LIFE IS CRUEL

Where are you guys finding these things? My local dealer says he can't find any. I have decided to get a take down.
Thanks
Ron

If you are willing to pay full msrp, the dealer in Anita has some. Davidsons is "allocating " them so smaller volume dealers may be lower on the list.

Yes, I went to Gunbroker.com late last night, and they have them. Retail and above. Plus I have have to pay shipping, all taxes, and fees when it is shipped to my local dealer. All that makes it very expensive. So I will just wait till spring. Maybe the price will be a little better then.

There's at least 3 shops in Spokane that all revived them yesterday. Hopefully they show up in your area soon. The going price seemed to be $260 for the standard version, $389 for the TD with one shop throwing in a Brick.

Here's a good place to start your search:

New Arrivals | Whittaker Guns

$240 for 4917
$314 for 4918 (TD Model)

Call them!

When I asked for a price, they went to Ruger's website and showed me their retail prices. I said, you're going to sell it to me at full retail?
Then they got on their supplier page and quoted me $375 for the take down model. I said okay order me one. All three of them behind the counter looked at me and smiled.
One guy chuckled and said good luck, they were not available and he didn't know when they could get them. There were several other customers standing around who were listening to my conversation.
I said really? Seems like that happens quite a bit in here. I thanked them for their time and left. This is not the first time they have laughed and said they couldn't get a gun in for me.
Same thing happened with my SR 1911. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic with them, I just wanted them to order a gun for me.
I decided to hit another gun dealer where my son does business, who owns a small pawn shop and he said his supplier is supposed to receive 40 of them in the next few days.
He quoted me a price of $299 for the take down model. I asked him to order me one and call when it comes in. I hope his supplier comes through. Looks like I will start dealing with the guy at the pawn shop from now on.
Oh, BTW... the pawn shop dealer will charge me $20 for the transfer fee from his supplier. The other big gun store charges $35.

I have several LGS's that are good, but I have been using a local pawn shop for years for the same reason, his $20 FFL fee. I order from Palmetto State Armory or Kentucky Gun Co. & have them ship to the pawn shop. I'm in/out in 30 minutes with the new item. It works well for me + every time I use them, the owner comes over and thanks me for the business & I thank him for charging fair prices.
Everyone else is $35-50 for transfers in my area.

I like the look of the stock on the standard model.

Let the shopping begin.

New Revised Charger

Interesting.
Didn't have much interest in the older version, but this one is ready to be canned!
Better grip, I think, too.

Wish it came with at least SOME sort of sight....
