because of the unSafe act...
declared, any semi auto handgun with one or more features is evil and deadly and is illegal..
-magazine outside of the primary hand grip.
-threaded barrel.
-shrouded barrel.
-another means other than the main primary grip to hold it.
-muzzle brake/break/flash hider (there's legal action over the spelling and definition), so I included all.
-over 50oz.
(maybe more, I'm pulling out the top ones right now that I remember, the law is so screwed up... you need to be a lawyer... oh yea, sorry, even the lawyers can't figure out decisive meaning of the wording in the definitions of the law, even the state police can't (those charged with enforcing it) and say it would have to be determined at trial.)

in general, all but for a 22lr tube feed...
Any magazine can not hold more than 10rnds

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread...
I'm a big fan of the 10/22's, and always thought about getting a charger, but can't till I get into a free state and out of this stink hole of a state.

Punch in the model number when you search (4917/4918). More info shows up, but sales are sparse.
Yup, here we go, nobody has it in stock though:

Ruger 22 Charger Pistol 4918, 22 Long Rifle, 10 in, Green Mountain Laminate Stock, Black Matte Finis - Able Ammo

Ruger 10/22 Charger Takedown Pistol .22 LR 10in 15rd Green Mountain Laminate

GB shows some Ruger Charger for Sale ? Buy a Ruger Charger Online at GunBroker.com

I'll wait for the prices to stabilize, once the initial frenzy dies down.

My preferred LGS just over the border in New Hampshire had one of the new take down Chargers on display. Massachusetts is another state where new pistols with magazines out of the grip frame are a no-no so I didn't pay attention to the price.

The grip appeared to be of the standard AR-15 fare so I would think just about any of the aftermarket AR grips would work.

Nice, but still can't be put on a US gun.

(without additional cost/paperwork/wait)

There are a few on gunbroker.com, but still a bit overpriced.

Thank you! I just ordered one. According to the model# it is not the Takedown though, which I didn't need/want anyway.

Can anyone recommend a decent scope for the charger? Not more expensive than the gun, please! :-)

I went the other direction and put optics on my Charger that were more expensive than the pistol was (the rimfire-only version of the EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight). Lots of fun.

The Leopold pistol scope at the same store was very nice, but it was even more than the EOTech.

DAMM! I did not get to the Kentucky Gun Co soon enough this morning. I called them at 10AM and they were "SOLD OUT". The guy told me they only had 5 of them for sale and they went quick. He didn't know when they would have more.

$300 for a standard, that's cheaper than the NOS chargers were selling for. $400 for a take down. Does anyone know if the 10/22 take down barrel will interchange?

Looks like they sold for as low as $190.
