Here is the spec sheet on the Ruger site. Threaded barrel, bi-pod, replaceable AR style grip (any AR grip will fit).

RugerŪ 22 Charger? Rimfire Pistol Model 4918

Here is the manual.

I plan to get one. They are neat little packages and I like its new look. Now, if only I could find one...

I like the grip, but I think the takedown is unnecessary.

A cheap to shoot pistol that can shoot 100 yards with a scope. In the case of the take down version, fit in a back pack and shoot 100 yards. They are not for everybody, but bug out wise it is great.

I went in to my big local gun store yesterday to inquire about the Charger. I usually go to this place because they are bigger and have a better selection of guns and accessories.
When I asked for a price, they went to Ruger's website and showed me their retail prices. I said, you're going to sell it to me at full retail?
Then they got on their supplier page and quoted me $375 for the take down model. I said okay order me one. All three of them behind the counter looked at me and smiled.
One guy chuckled and said good luck, they were not available and he didn't know when they could get them. There were several other customers standing around who were listening to my conversation.
I said really? Seems like that happens quite a bit in here. I thanked them for their time and left. This is not the first time they have laughed and said they couldn't get a gun in for me.
Same thing happened with my SR 1911. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic with them, I just wanted them to order a gun for me.
I decided to hit another gun dealer where my son does business, who owns a small pawn shop and he said his supplier is supposed to receive 40 of them in the next few days.
He quoted me a price of $299 for the take down model. I asked him to order me one and call when it comes in. I hope his supplier comes through. Looks like I will start dealing with the guy at the pawn shop from now on.
Oh, BTW... the pawn shop dealer will charge me $20 for the transfer fee from his supplier. The other big gun store charges $35.

Awesome! They're coming! I will probably wander out tomorrow and see what luck I might have. Either model would be cool with me. I'd like to suppress it eventually... those squirrels are getting cocky!

I like it. Discussing it with a coworker right now. He's been looking at a 10/22 takedown for his collection.

I've got plenty of LGSs like that here, don't want to deal with orders so they say they can't get them after checking with one distributor, too lazy to check with others or have no business relationship beyond their primary source. I hear more crap at LGSs than I care to remember.

Most of the crap I here are customers and those behind the counter talk about things they don't know about.
Of course everyone is a know-it-all. I have even been accused of that.

Just got a price of $304.00 plus tax for the takedown and $238.00 for the standard . But the lgs also told me they are not shipping yet from Ruger. I don't know if he just means Ruger is not shipping to his distributor yet or all distributors.
