Hmmm, it's advertised as being specially made for the 10/22.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0083OHL7U

The reviewers give it a perfect 5 stars and say it fits perfectly.

jlh820, That's because it is NOT a 10/22. The new American 22 is drilled and tapped for a two piece Weaver #12 scope base ... or ... you can use 22 tip off rings (3/8").

That looks pretty neat huntsman. From the pictures I think I prefer the plain tan, but I bet the web looks better in person. You got me thinking about putting a flat sniper grey on the barreled action as a project.

Well it looks better then I thought. But not as good as I'd like for my daughter.

Will need to do some touch up, maybe schlacked on too much paint

I am sure she will proudly tell people decades from now, "And my daddy even painted that rifle pink just for me. He taught me how to shoot and I did real well at it. After work he'd take me out back and let my shoot the spinners and bowling pins. . . "

Daughters put great wealth in things like that and time spent with their fathers. Nice job dad.

I do want one for my collection, but I believe I want the standard length. Thanks for posting the pictures especially the one looking down the receiver seeing the rear and front sight.

UPDATE!!! I brought home the American Rimfire Standard 22LR this past Saturday on October 5th. The LGS told me I was the first to get one in town. I'm glad I told them I wanted one as soon as I found out about this new Ruger. I can't wait to try it out this weekend!!! I have wanted a bolt action 22LR for quite a while. $279 purchase price.

I found my 22mag American rifle at Kentucky Gun Co for $249.00 with free shipping. I have it scoped and bore sighted ready to be sighted in. Can hardly wait!
