I like it. It's a nice improvement over the basic black, IMO.

I wonder if Ruger's new factory will be intended for producing more Ruger American type firearms...

That navy camo RAR grows on you. Looked at one last Thursday at my LGS but ended up buying a Ruger Gunsite Scout instead. After laying awake last night thinking about that RAR I went back today and bought it (a great deal at $296 that I couldn't resist - guess the lack of sleep left me too weak to resist). Now I can lay awake at night worrying about what optics to put on each of them. Maybe by the time I get that worked out I can find some reasonably priced .308 ammo.

Never understood Navy camo!

WTF? Are we supposed to hide in the water or under it? The single most stupid thing the Navy has done recently.

Cracker jack 13 button dress blues AWESOME

Bell bottoms! AWESOME!

Navy camo? NO!

I've seen couple of these and I really I like the way they look; although I'm not sure I get the idea behind "Navy Camo" either, I sitll think its it's an improvement over the standard black synthetic!

Then again, I don't like the black synthetic on the M77's or 10/22's either!

That's a nice flavor change.

It'll be especially nice when I ambush deer from a parachute! They'll never see that RAR coming out of the sky!

I realize not everyone appreciates the different camo patterns out there. I for one don't like 90% of them, however it is nice to see that you now have an option for the RAR.

This probably means that they are going to be introducing more stock options for the RAR in future and perhaps make everyone happy with a larger selection.

I'd have to agree. Given the success of the RAR series, I'm sure Ruger will expand it with various options/combinations in terms of stocks, barrel lengths & maybe even barrel materials. It's no different than what they did (and still do) with the M77 series... As soon as they sense sales starting to taper off, it's time to offer a couple of new "options" (that in all likelihood can be produced on the existing production line, with little additional cost)

Welcome & congrats; if you're looking for a scope that won't break the bank, take a look at the Alpen Wideangle - does the job & has a nice warranty...

Awesome. I have considered the RAR, but I disliked the black stock. This is a nice option. If they release an army green digital camo in 243, I'd head to the gun store today.
