I'm curious about how the Ruger American handles (vents, redirects, whatever) escaping gas in the even of a case head rupture, pierced primer, or the like. IME, the M-77 MkII/Hawkeye do a magnificent job of redirecting any escaping gas _away_ from the shooter's face & head. Not all gun designs do as good a job. I'm curious about the American's design in this regard.
So... Anyone blown a case apart in an American yet? You can answer via PM if you don't want to publicize the event.
