A dirty chamber can cause this.
Also excess pressure can cause this.
Are you showing signs of excess pressure; flattened/ cratered primer, etc?
Have you trimmed your cases to spec?

if they are handloads causing the problem, just buy a box of factory ammo and see if you have the same problem. If that solves it it is not your gun but your reloads or how you reload that needs changed.

Have you trimmed your cases to spec? | I second the excess pressure. Check for flattened primers.

I agree that it's the ammo. I've never had a single issue on my 30-06 in 12 years with factory loads.

Since they are handloads check for flattened primers or cratering around the primer strike. It could be a dirty chamber, but it sounds more like pressure to me. Check the primers on a few empty cases, that will give us A LOT of insight as to what is going wrong.
BTW, Did you try any factory loads in it? I'd try some factory loads and see if they are having the same problems. Welcome to the forum from a fellow .270 lover.
