Why no love for the .25-06 or 7MM-08, the two fastest rising big-game cartridges on the market? I am seeing more and more of these two cartridges every year (especially in budget bolt-guns) and yet Ruger doesn't offer them in the American? Anybody have any idea why?

Those cartridges are often skipped over for the "classics". 270/06/243.

My dad was thinking about getting an American in .25-06 but apparently no such animal exists. Heck, by the time you re-barrel one you might as well have just bought the M77.

I think you will see new calibers in the American as soon as Ruger gets a handel on production.......Ruger is flat out in production of all firearms.

I'm sure more calibers will appear in the American if it proves to be a money maker for Ruger. I really like a 7mm08 and 270 for deer.

Ruger has never been what I would call a follower but the leader in the firearm industry. They had to follow in the Polymer market and now the American rifle to get into a entry level rifle. I can see them making the more common calibers to start off with instead of allot of expense setting up for other cailbers if the American doesn't have the following they had hoped for.I'm sure it's more of a business stand point then anything else.
