Here's my new Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle with all the bells and whistles. On it we have a Leopold 3-9x40 VX-2 Scope which quickly comes off with ease with the Leopold QRW's perched on the beautiful XS site rail allowing to retain the iron sights. Lastly, we have the Harris bipod which is quality construction. Its easy to attach and the indents in the legs are nice. This gun is driving me nuts because I have yet to shoot it!!!!! This sunday I will be at the range to sight it in and it couldnt come any sooner. I used a laser .308 bore site shell from firefield.com to get me somewhat in the right area of where I need to be but I cant wait to get this thing dialed in! WAHOOO!!!

Nice I just got the same bipod for my Rem 700. I thought it was going to be too small looking at it at home but its actually the perfect size off of a bench. That sure is a nice looking rifle.

We get the GSR in the laminated stock same as the US, just that its SS and no FH. But some of us have put aftermarket FH's on, or swapped stocks.

What kind of stock is that Gibs? I like it! it's with the stainless that's like a "weather proof" GSR. I dig it.

Its an older styled boat paddle stock from Ruger's original all weather series of firearms. There are a few still around in some of our gun shops that can be had rather cheap.

I'm taking mine to the range tommorow. Ill take some pictures and post how I make out. I've got a box of 168 z-max, 150 federal fusion and 2 boxes of Remington lokt 180. Which round do you guys reccomend for sighting the scope?

I like the looks of the Stainless and composite stocks...
Does the trigger housing/magazine well drop into the composite stock or did you have to do a bit of fitting?

I just fired 80 rounds through the GSR and gave up after 10 shots with trying to sight it in because I wasn't even on the paper haha. I took off the scope and shot with the XS sight rail which didn't need any adjustment. My brother and I were nailing bullseye at 50 yards with the iron sights. This thing is so much fun to shoot. I guess its backm to the drawing boars for the scope so I got a pair of binoculars. I'm hoping my brother could see where I'm.shooting next time

What height QRW did you use? I'm trying to find a QD ring set that I can swap between a couple guns.
Coming from ARs, I'd prefer a one-peice ring solution, do you feel that having the two QD rings separated could lead to some movement when putting on / taking off / not attached to a gun? Or am I just being paranoid about a non-issue?
