Smoothing out the action?

So I got MY Ruger Scout and I am some what turned off by the gritty-ness ( is that even a word?) of the action. Its not the lifting or lowering of the bolt handle but the throw (forward and back movement) of that I don't like. I have not shot the rifle as of yet, waiting on glass, but I have cycle the bolt close too 500 times. It looks well used now and has smoothed out some but it still binds up when I work the action fast. The bolt race ways are rough, I wonder if I should have gotten a true Mauser action. What have you guys done to smooth out you action?

I recognize some of my limitations when it comes to gunsmithing, that said this is too important an issue to not to give to a G-smith to fix up for you, good luck

Mine was pretty rough at first but has smoothed out considerably w/ shooting. I haven't really shot it a lot either.

A bit of grease on the outside of the lugs, then sit and work the action while watching your favorite TV shows. It tends to pi**-off the wife, so do it in the back room
