Is it an Accuracy International magazine?

Arrow GSR mag choices

The last time I checked, the magazine choices for the GSR were:

Ruger
Accuracy International (AI)
C-Products

The first two product lines are known to work well in the GSR. The last one is "not ready for prime time," and should be avoided. They don't give away any of the mags, they can be spendy. Though, Midway sometimes has a sale on the AIs, that prices them less than Ruger.

I have heard rumblings about polymer mags eventually being available.

YMMV,

I just got back from the Puyallup Gunshow in WA and was able to buy a 5 round mag for $53

A little high but oh well. I bought the one and only in the whole show, the vendor says the distributors can't keep up with the demand. Anyway I think it's cool that I have a 5 and 10 rounder now. Hopefully we get some polymer mags soon from a good company like magpul. That's prob wishful thinking.

I bought an extra 10 rounder and a 5 rounder last winter, the are overpriced but now I have all I should need.

I just picked up a couple of mags from Alpha Industries. They were a few dollars less than the Accurate-Mag that comes with the rifle but they are about an inch shorter and fit in the mag well much better than the supplied mag. After I run the Alpha's to ensure function I'll probally sell the Accurate-Mag.

That seems crazy to me.
What is it? gold plated? digital? tacticool?
I have been lusting after one but if it costs that much to feed it I guess I'll pass.

Very Accurate.

I do well enough with the iron sights that I get compliments from guys using scopes.

Call me old-fashioned, even if having young eyes.

Well, I ran the Alpha's and ended up selling the Accurate-Mag that came with the rifle. The Alpha's worked great, are about an inch shorter and don't flop around. I'm a happy camper, now I just need to get my scope mounted.

That's crazy. I read that Ruger originally wanted to design the gun to run with M-14 magazines, but felt they couldn't do it.

Probably had to do with being unable to sell M-14 magazines for $70.

Hopefully they'll go down once everyone who wants the gun buys one.

I also bought an Alpha mag, I like the quality of the product. But unfortunately the recommended Alpha #2 mags aren't currently working in my left handed GSR because the ejector is hitting the mag feed lips. I'm in contact with the owner of Alpha and he's already working on a solution, when it's resolved I'll post more details for everyone. I'm impressed with his desire to resolve this, that level of customer service is rare today.

Yeah, the GSR mags are a real gouge. Not to mention Ruger is back-ordered and gave me a 5 week shipping date... might be cheaper and quicker to have a local metal worker reverse engineer a couple for me. Seriously.
