Magpul Hunter stock for the American, Finally!!!

Got an email from Magpul today. It would seem they've finally kicked Ruger enough dollars to use their v-block bedding patent on their Hunter line of stocks. I've been putting off getting an American mostly because I didn't care for the cheap looking stock they came with and there wasn't much of an aftermarket following for a replacement. Until now!

Here's a short video...

That's pretty cool news. I might buy one if they make it for long action RAR's though. :-(

Give'em a little time and I'm sure they will. There's long action remington versions of the hunter. I myself am interested in the 204 Ruger RAP but only the proprietary mags work with the oem stock. I hope Magpul corrects this by offering a model that will accept 5.56 p-mags for both 204 & 223 RA's. So far the only version they're offering is for .308/.243/6.5 Creedmoor. RA rimfire versions would be nice too, in 22lr/22mag/17hmr! (I hope Magpul is reading this)

The Magpul stock will work with American rifles in 223/204/300bo the same way that their Remington short action stocks work for those calibers. You just can't use the Magpul aics mag(the Magpul hunter stocks all use an AICS pattern magazine, which is pretty much the industry standard for bolt action rifles) that comes with it. There are several other companies that make an AICS pattern magazine for the 223 family of cartridges, MDT, Accurate Mag, and AICS all come to mind right now. The other manufacturers will just be a little more expensive than the Magpul magazine would have been.

There have been numerous companies that have tried to utilize Pmags for bolt rifles but unless the receiver is designed for the Stanag type magazine, it will not feed reliably. Had to do with different loading geometries between typical bolt action receivers and "self loading rifle receivers".

200% American and comes with a whole pie. Not a 12.5% slice of pie, but 100% of a pie.
