Ruger Precision Rifle

When empty, a fully retracted bolt hits the rear of the mag follower when loading a single round. It can be overcome by retracting the mag a little bit and edging the bolt forward a bit, by sticking your finger in and depressing the follower a little while edging the bolt forward over the edge, or by being careful not to bring the bolt all the way back past the mag follower.
But...it's sure not a convenient way to shoot precision without using the mag--and I don't want to load the mag when I'm trying for the very best groups with a handload.

Solution? Different mag? Modify the mag?

My club range has single feed rule and my 308W reload COAL is 72.3mm - 2.85 inch so they wont fit in the standard pmag and the RPR Pmags bolt interrupt safety was a pain,,,, so i found a Mossberg 308 magazine in steel, it cheap fits fine and allows me to easy finger in rounds.

I used to belong to an outdoor range and it was single load only. Will the gun load directly intot he chamber without a mag?
