Personally, I can see the appeal for those that have more money than brains, or just want the "flashiest" gun at the range, but IMO you could probably take an American Ranch rifle, drop it in an MDT LSS chassis and add glass and have a rifle that'll probably shoot as good as the RPR, and you'll still have under $1k in it, which is less than your gonna pay for the RPR without glass.

Hi all.
.Cost withstanding I am 100% sure I really need one.. I have one in .308 its great to use. .223 would be a cheaper /fun day out plinking steel targets out to 400/500. Just have to work on the minister of war and finance now. I hope she never sells my rifles for what I said they cost lol.

Money and brains doesn't have a thing to do with it. I'll get one just because I CAN and I WANT that RPR rifle in that caliber. It's just that simple. As for "flashiest", never been in my vocabulary and I could care less about "flashiest"

Hi all ..
I think the RPR .223 will be popular.. They have only been announced for say a week max down here via Ruger's factory emails. Nothing mainstream like in shooting magazines etc , and a few whispers on forums that they are available for sale.
So across the three states down here you can have them in is already 72 orders for them not huge numbers but for here pretty good in such a short time. I would say shooters have defiantly decided there is a niche for the RPR in that calibre. I put some hard earned down on one yesterday so will wait and see what they are like when it finally arrives.
