Gunsite Scout

Got mine the 13 Feb 2017 used. 16.5 in barrel in 308 Win and noticed when I threw it up to my shoulder it did not fit well(head resting lower than with other rifles) with the iron sights and began to come to the conclusion that it was really made for having a scope put on it. Haven't tried the extenders to see if that helps any. Just wanted to see if this happened with anybody else.

Sarkus will become famous soon enough
I got mine last summer and still haven't put a scope on it. Feels fine to me.

I like it with iron sights. Fits like a glove.

Maybe I'm reading your comment backwards, starstorm, but if you scope the GSR you will have to raise your head in comparison to the iron sights.

Everyone's physical dimensions are different, yet the iron sights on my GSR align perfectly with my eye. A scope on the other hand, whether scout type or receiver mounted, both require me to raise my head a little bit. And that is with the lowest scope rings I have found.

So, I put a cheap Allen branded stock pouch/ammo holder on my GSR. The part that goes over the cheek rest of the stock raises my head almost perfectly for low mounted scope use.
