My ruger gunsite scout didnt come with a thread protector

So i bought a 5.56 GSR in the 16 inch stainless barrel. I was reading that stainless models were suppose to come with thread protectors. However, mine did not seem to come with one. Am I missing the thread protector or does it not come with the 5.56 16 inch barrels?

I went round and round with Ruger on this. They even sent me 2 thread protectors for the .308 (anyone need a .308 thread protector?) until they finally got it right. I have a Redfield 3-9X scope. It shoots under an inch at 50 yards (indoor) with factory ammo. Its a fun gun, enjoy.

Cool I see. Maybe calling Ruger is the easiest option to find out. Thanks
