I have been shooting Lake City 5.56 and Lake City 7.62 in my Remington's for 2 decades now with NO pressure problems.

Ruger said no to shooting 5.56 rounds in a .223 M77 Hawkeye when I called them.

I believe most gun makers will say "only shoot what your gun is marked for" due to fear of being sued.....You can see it now ....I called so & so and they said if I could fit it in the chamber it would be safe to shoot!
