I have the RA Compact in 7mm-08.

I reworked the trigger (replaced the trigger spring with a spring from a Bic pen, hey it works). Trigger is now a very sweet 2 lbs.

I used Bondo Fiberglas Resin and two 1-24 threaded rods to stiffen the forend. This also added weight, but not too much. I then added the resin to the butstock area, but I used too much there and now the rifle is a little heavier than I wanted.

All, it's a very handy and compact rifle, just like my son's Rem M-7 also in 7mm-08.

I've killed five does with this RA and all except one were one shot kills.

I also have a RA Predator in .223 with the 22" barrel. currently, I've got a free china-made 3-9x40 scope on it and it's accuracy is only ok. I've also added the resin to the forend and butstock but not too much unlike last time. It doesn't shoot as well as I'd like yet but it could be the chnia-made scope.

If I was you, I'd get one and go kill hogs with it!

I have the American compact (not all weather) in 223 and it shoots very nice. The accuracy really surprised me and mine is bone stock, all I did was adjust the trigger down to a lighter pull and mounted a nikon 223 scope. I also just picked up a ranch compact in 5.56 another good shooter. Good luck with yours, which ever one you choose.

I bought one about a month ago and I was finally able to make it to the range. It shot the cheapest brass cased 150gr fmj ammo into 3/4" 3 shot groups and the 168gr federal gold medal match ammo into 1/2" 3 shot groups. All shots taken from the bench at 100 yards.
I was shocked when I went down range and pulled the targets. For $300.00 I can't ask for anything better than that. I mounted a Vortex 4-16X44 HS-T scope on it and couldn't be happier.
Now I just need to settle on a hand load that will work for all three of my 308s.

Great shooting Warboar! I just ordered a LH Compact in .308. Can't wait to get started. I'm gonna use an OLD Redfield (Denver) Gunsight 3x9x40 scope that was on my Remmy 700 .270 before I sold it. Plan on making the stock mods that Rumble Phish showed right off the bat and will probably get some treatment for the stainless steel. I kinda doubt that you'll find an identical load that all three will find best. You'd have a unicorn stable if you did and I would want the lottery numbers from ya...
