Just shot one last weekend. It had a trigger job and put 5 shots in 3/8 inch group at 100 yards.I was using black hill reloads ( blue box) It also shot the winchester white box hollow point from walmart in 0.5 inch group. Can't beat a Ruger.

I do have a few Ruger rifles and they all shoot under 1-MOA! Some will even better that by 1/2 as much again. I hand load for my 25-06 and it has shot .445 at the bench on a very good day but will shoot .775 almost all the time. The .204 Ruger I have has turned in a .290-MOA on a good day at the bench. My opinion is that if your going to spend $500 dollars on a used rifle, make it the one you want and put another 150 to 200 with the rifle and then you know what you have and no problems are likely to happen. If they did you have a Ruger warranty!!! Now having a rifle or gun worked on by a gunsmith is a high dollar issue that can cost one several hundred dollars in the long run. I seldom purchase a used gun, unless it is a colloctor's item etc. |

I have one that I love. If I do my part, it will shoot very well; more importantly, to me, it does it all day and isn't particularly fussy--it'll shoot with a relatively clean barrel or one that's been shooting at priairie dogs without a break. The two-stage trigger is excellent. Mine is about the same age as the one you're looking at. ![]() Ten shot group (blame the flyer on me): |
