New to me Ruger American Rifle in .308 Win

Hello all!
I'm from South Central Texas, new to the forum, but not new to Ruger firearms .
I recently bought a RAR in .308!
I think it's one heck of a rife and caliber.
I've heard from another forum that even from a 22 " bbl, it gets close to factory velocities from factory ammo.

Welcome to the forum.
I just got one in 308 for my B-day and think it's a good rifle as well.
Lightened the trigger today holes touching @ 50 yards with a 110 Sierra HP loaded for my birthday by a cousin , very happy so far.
Enjoy your rifle and this site.
Mike

Welcome from Lockhart, TX. I just picked up a RAP in 6.5 Creedmoor and look forward to seeing what it can do. Keep us posted.

308 will come very close to factory specs in a barrel over 20inch

Should make a heck of a rifle for not a huge investment. And the 308 is one of my favorite cartridges. Good luck with your new to you rifle.

I've been shooting my American 308 22in for over two and a half years. I could not be more pleased. Although, I'm pretty active with hand loading, I've never run a chronograph. But, the rifle is very accurate.
