Im curious, does this rifle use the ar15 magazines, like the ar version in 450 bushy, loaded in single stack in a conventional 30 rd magazine except a 5 to 10 round capacity? I did not see that information on rugers website.

Never mind, found the magazines at shop ruger, appear to be different somewhat.

I've been drooling over that pic for a few weeks now. The one thing missing from my collection is a true big boomer. I've even been looking at No. 1's in 375 Ruger or H&H.

Looking to go to my local gun shop to see about ordering one. Wish the mag was like the GS scout. It has the classic Ruger American mag 3 round 1 in the chamber. Good from 50 to 300 yards though I think 300 pushing it supposedly still 2 moa at that distance still hitting 1000 foot pounds@300. Looking into that more closely but talk about hard hitting.

Ruger said the muzzle brake was a must it was busting scopes without it.
Nice modern day 45-70 cheaper than the 458 SOCOM.

Wonder if Ruger will make their piston AR IN 450 bushmaster? Just a thought.

Yeah they came out with it initially for the Michigan, Ohio, Illinois area flat lands where they could only hunt dear with shotgun slugs. Then Ohio came out with allowing straight wall calibers like the 45-70 and 450 BM. Rumor has it they were only to make 1000 copies to start but it took off like wildfire. It's probably why its on the Ruger site officially.

Model Number: 16950 Suggested Retail$599.00 will let ya know on street price in PA.

Street price on 02/07/2017 436pm from my dealer though not in stock and can be ordered is $449.00 Looks like I be trying to get up to my Gun shop on Saturday

They say its a nice shove when firing like someone trying to pick a fight..............

458 SOCOM would have been a better choice.....

Recoil is not bad at all, similar to a 20 gauge. Rifles are very accurate, 2" groups out to 300 yards with good glass. Both of my rifles are incredible shooters for the price. Easy for me to move them to the number 1 position in my Whitetail arsenal.

Also as far as a muzzle brake goes, not needed in my opinion. Actually all they really do is ad a lot of noise to the shot. My 10 year old nephew can shoot either of my rifles with zero issues pertaining to recoil.

you would shot my 338 very many times without muzzle break.....maybe once....they work very well.....less recoil is always better....

Yes less recoil is better, especially on a rifle like your .338.

The .450 has no real recoil to speak of, a brake only adds noise to a .450

Has anyone heard anything about when the Ruger 16950 will actually hit the streets? Last thing I heard was mid February, but that has obviously come and gone.
