HI All,
I'm interested in buying a Ruger Hawkeye in .223 Remington. I'm specifically looking at a Hawkeye Compact in .223 Rem with the 16.5" barrel.
Can anyone confirm the twist rate for these rifles? I looked at the Ruger website and it lists a 1 in 12" twist rate for the Hawkeye Compact in .223 Rem (http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/FAProdView?model=17107&return=Y).
However, the Ruger 2009 catalog lists the twist rate as 1 in 9" for this gun. I called Ruger and asked the customer service people what the rate was. The first lady told me 1 in 12", but then I called again after seeing the 1 in 9" listed on the website for the other .223 Rifles, and the person I spoke with for the second call said it was 1 in 9", although she at first was going to say 1 in 12" (but then she looked some stuff up and changed her answer).
What's the current twist rate on the .223 rifles?
Thanks in advance!
