This is a common complaint on the first gen RPR's. I have a second Gen RPR in 6.5 Creedmore, and it doesn't have this problem. Mine shoots 1/2 MOA with hand loaded Hornady 142 grain ELD's. For a $1100 rifle, I'm very pleased. Taking some long range classes in the spring.

I just got my rifle back today. It had the exact same problem. Ruger replaced the bolt and now it works as it should.

I bought an RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor from a Field and Stream store. It was fresh in a box and they broke the seal on in front of me. I throughly examined it in front of the clerk which kind of freaked him out when I pulled the bolt out and checked out the reassembly. I looked carefully at the hand guard alignment before going to pay. When I took it to the range I started out at 100 yards, and six rounds later was zeroed.

I then loaded up a 10 round mag, and these were my next 10 shots.

I guess I like junk. A lot! To each his own. Proof one man's trash is another man's treasure.

I just picked up the same 2nd Gen in 6.5 and have had issues with cartridge feed too, But It has been the bolt passes the head of the brass and skips along the side of the case. Not horrible if you are watching as you try to reload a round but I would not want to rely on it for a quick follow up shot by any means. Also an issue for me is the "O" ring on the newer aluminum shroud. It seems to hang up while pulling the bolt back. I am also have a Gen 1 in the 308 and have never experienced this hang up or the bullet feed issues before this with the Gen 2. But the 6.5 does seem to be an accurate round. Perhaps it might just be better with a different manufacturer. So far I am not happy with my bullet feed issues in the Gen 2. Only 40 rounds though it at this point in time.
