This is a discussion on Ruger American boyds stock pillar bedding within the Ruger Bolt Action forums, part of the Rifle & Shotgun Forum category; This came out pretty good. First thing I did was use devcon to secure both pillar blocks. Next day I bedded the the action....

I just bought an American Predator in .243. I also have a M77 MKII that I installed a Boyd's stock on over a year ago and that turned out real well. I really like the heavy grain you get with a laminated stock. Let us know how it performs after all this work. Down the road I may want to put a Boyd's stock on the Predator as well. Can you give us a picture of your gun when complete?

Did yours come with a trigger guard?. I just got mine today and no bedding blocks and no trigger guard. I tried getting the blocks out of my oem stock and they don't move. This is a real new rifle and I believe these blocks are molded into the stock. Icouldn't budge them with a hammer and punch.

Call Boyds tell them what's missing. I had the same problem took another week to get all the missing parts..The blocks are different than rugers block.

Mine came with a trigger guard.

My bedding blocks were easily removed from my factory stock.

Jumping in on an older discussion - I just ordered a Boyd's Heritage stock for my Predator 6.5 CM. Is it pretty much a given that I'll have to bed the v-blocks in? I saw Dilligaff mention Devcon. Is this the go-to epoxy for this kind of thing (I've heard mention of JB Weld, too)? I've never done any stock work at all except for slapping actions into new ones, so I'm just trying to figure out what I'll need to pick up before the stock gets here.

Any advice is appreciated!!!
