Plated Bullets in a 77/44

Has anyone used Plated Lead Bullets in their 77/44? I have avoided using bare Lead Bullets in mine for fear of leading up the barrel, but wondering how Plated bullets such as Berrys would work. I realize that velocities would need to be kept below 1200fps.

I have plated bullets, and I have a 77/44, but I've never used them together. I don't see why you couldn't, though, as long as you keep the velocities within the plated bullets' usable range. They should not lead anything, as they are encapsulated with copper. That plating should not be compromised, if it is you may be pushing them too fast?

I use lead bullets in mine (gas checked) and have zero leading issues even running some hot Buffalo Bore stuff. Mine really likes CP 300 gr WFN slugs doing about 1400-1500.

The quality cast bullets are probably more expensive than plated stuff but I wouldn't let leading be an issue when deciding what to shoot in yours.

Just had mine out last week (busting clay pigeons offhand with peeps) with the LCR, SBH and Bulldog. That 77/44 is an absolute hoot! :)
