Im thinking of buying a rifle in 38/357. Im looking hard at the Ruger 38/357 bolt action and am also considering a lever action in a similar price range. Any thoughts on one vs the other? Thanks in advance. nixpap
Agreed. I don't like setting the butt of my Marlin 60 on something, extracting the rod and setting it down, dropping cartridges in the tube, picking the tube back up and trying to work it back in. I'd rather jam rounds in the side like my buddy's Marlin 30-30.
I have a JM stamped Marlin 1894c .357. The wood and blueing are so beautiful and perfect that I wouldn't dare take it hunting for fear of marring it. For me, it would have to be the Ruger 77/357. Stainless with synthetic stock - it wouldn't concern me to take a rifle like that hunting.
