| Ruger 77/22 Rifle Nice!
I did a search but didn't find a match. Nor is there a forum 'exactly' for this rifle as this one seems to be for 'big bore's .
Anyway, I really like shooting this bolt action rifle. Good for target shooting and varmint shooting. I've had it for several years now and enjoy it every time it gets out. A tack driver. As long as I can hold on target, I will nail it. Never the gun or scope's fault!
Simple to keep clean. Easy to disassemble for cleaning. Easy to load. What more could you ask for?
Ever try shooting 22 cases off a log? Or empty shotgun shells for a bit bigger target? Fun!

rclark, The topic doesn't say rim or center fire ... just Ruger Bolt Action Rifles. Besides, the 77/22 is built more like a high power rifle than a rimfire, so your post fits here just perfect. These are great guns and I wish I had one.

| Yep. And you don't need to 'jazz' it up like I see people doing with 10/22s . Just all business. Hit what you aim at (usually). Perfect small game rifle and cheap to shoot. What more could you ask?
Also, it is great for kids (at least my kids!). Safety wise. When you snap off a round, you have to to physically crank in another one ... unlike the 10/22 .

I to have a 77-22 and a 77-22 hornet. They are my favorite guns to shoot because you don't have to think, just aim at what you want to hit, they do the rest.

I have a 77/22 in .22 Mag. I have a 3-9 burris scope on it and it can hit 20 oz. plastic bottle caps at 100 yards consistently. I was amazed by its accuracy and never regret buying it!

I have three and wish I could afford three more. My latest one is a beauty. The walnut is quite nice for a standard grade wood and it has shot like a house of fire from the beginning. As a matter-of-fact I am so proud of it I would like to post a few pictures of it if I may.

I have always wanted one. I have owned lots of .22 semi-autos, but that M77 bolt version has always intrigued me. May have to go looking for one. Thanks for the "excuse" ;-)

| You need no excuse! If you looking for a good solid shooting .22.... the 77/22 is it. My sons has been out either gopher shooting or target shooting this summer with the 77/22. Having a ball.

A few years ago I was looking for a quality .22LR bolt rifle as an understudy for my big game rifles. I ended up with a used K77/22VHZ in like new condition with a beautiful trigger (so much for shooting and not worrying about reloading). My first group after getting the scope dialed onto paper was a tight clover leaf, and after it was zeroed it was tedious . A couple of years later I ended up getting a CZ-452, and am very happy with that as well.

Newby here. I also own a Ruger 77 in 22 mag. blued with SS Bolt.
I have been looking for a replacement barrel with sights for it, since my boys love shooting with open sights. Anyone know where I can find a replacement stock barrel with sights? Ideally, under $100. Tried Ruger - way too much money, and other custom barrels have no sights either.
