Noob, I feel sorry for ya. You got it and bad. That dreaded disease, Rugeritice. There is no cure. You will only buy more accessories for your 10/22 untill you can't buy no more. Then you will buy another 10/22 and then another Ruger. Until one day you look around and there are dozens of Rugers in your gun safe.
There is hope though. Give that 10/22 to me and hopefully you can break the curse. Don't feel bad about giving that 10/22 to me, I am to far gone to save.
Seriously, enjoy that 10/22. And the one you will eventually have to buy for the girlfriend when she shoots yours.

yea, my friend's LOVE my 10/22, they're now looking into 22lr rifles and pistols.... It's fun to shoot, fairly accurate (as accurate as i am), and cheap to shoot also. Only thing is, it feels like a glorified pellet gun.... I think i'm done with ruger, well maybe an LCP, but my gf has been getting on my case b/c i bought 3 guns in 3 months, so i'm laying off for a few months, but come this fall, i want to buy an AK47 just in case SHTF..... Oh yea, a springfield Loaded Champion is also in my near future....

noob, how could you do that to your friends. This is a highly contageous disease and you spread it to your friends! I can't believe it!
You know they are going to hate you. I hope you don't let your girlfriend shoot. All we need now is for it to spread to the female population. |

By the girl friend a bracelet and she will over look your next purchase. Especially if the bracelet costs more then the gun. |

lol, i think i might have to do that. I plan to buy a springfield loaded champion 1911 in the not too far future, so i guess i'm going to have to take her on a cruise or something, and break the news to her at the end of the trip lol... But yea, i figure i'll get 1 of everything i want, then i'll stop.
as for now i have a full size gun (p95), my sub compact (XD9sc), my plinker (10/22), and soon to be my 1911, and a AK47 (I feel the need for a REAL rifle)

no offense, but i can't stand ak-47's, the ones i have shot (4) were very un accurate, and seemed like it was trying to cycle bricks....
if you desire the caliber 7.62x39 then get it in like an ar-15 variant, flat top receiver and a heavy barrel, along with some 30 rounders will make a very fun day of shooting.....

main reason i wanted at AK, was because they don't require much maintenance, the price is def. right, (you can get 2 for the price of 1 AR) and the 7.62 round in fairly cheap.... I don't go hunting, and none of the ranges around here even let you shoot rifles, so it's ONLY purpose would be for SHTF situations/conversation piece... I' probably go to the outdoor range (about 1 1/2 hours away) probably only 1-2 times a year to shoot it, whereas i've been going almost every other week to the indoor range with the 10/22 and XD9

My brother calls it the "gun a month club". I was a member in the early 90's . That's when they started restricting what I could own here in California.
I also Bought a Mak-90 , which is a thumbhole version of the AK. Last month I outshot a kid that just bought a Remington 700 in 30'06. But hey he was a kid. It shoots dead on at 100 yards with iron sights. It's not designed for shooting past 300 yards but it does ok. It's also a blast to shoot. Mags are cheap and the ammo is the cheapest centerfire you can get. Shoot what you like and enjoy yourself.

The 10/22 is as good as it gets. Let us know when you have a range report.

Being a Ruger fan, I agree with you. Being a .22 rimfire fan even more so. Accuracy is unbeatable on the short distances, and it does not matter so much what you connect with as where you connect. I have shot up to Impala with .22 RF, (not counting the annual steer for the winter meat supply) and with a well placed shot, one-shot kills are the norm. You have to get up close though, within 50 paces. (Impala are about the size of the American white-tail I think, about 100lbs weight- 50 lbs dressed carcass)
I don't need a range report to know that it is a superb small calibre rifle. Among the best, if not THE best.

there seems to be no end to how much you can spend on 10/22's. I have 2 stock models with a few add ons, 1 is wood stock, 1 is the polymer cut out version that says ruger inside, like the 77/22 of today. I have put same add-ons and same scopes on both. They shoot identical. evryone who shoots them loves them. I do like the colored laminate stock models that are out now. My dream is the 10/22 gatling gun kit. Someday..
