Ruger 10/22 with Sling/Swivels?

In 1998 I bought a Ruger 10/22 Stainless, Target with a brown laminate stock from an individual with scope and swivels and Ruger embossed sling. The rifle was manufactured in 1997 (Ser prefix 246-xxxx) I have enjoyed shooting this very accurate rifle for fifteen years and would not think of getting rid of it.

My question is. that it finally dawned on me I haven't seen another Target with swivels and sling. Did Ruger ever ship any with swivels? Was this a special to a distributor? The swivels seem to have been attach at the factory or by a skilled gunsmith. I've carried(not far) that heavy rifle with sling while hunting small critters, but never thought much about how common swivels were on that stock.

It's been a while since I thought about it but mine issued back in the first years of the "TARGET" offering came with swivels but don't remember a sling. I think I replaced the stock swivels with Uncle Mike's Swivel Studs and attached my own sling via the Uncle Mike's quick attachable /detachable sling swivels. I could ditch the sling that way when I wanted.

Thanks. The sling may have been aftermarket even though it is embossed with the "Ruger" name in red.

That embossed "Ruger Sling" came with the limited runs agreed to by Bill Ruger and Sam Walton for a Walmart Special in the mid 90's. It was the black/gray carbine laminated stock with the SS barrel. Very cool limited run!
I got a couple of these models and the slings are very unique.
I actually did some more checking and found my original; "stocker" sling swivels.
...and yes I replaced them with the previously mentioned product.
Those Target models are good shooters!
