Only issue I've heard on the 10/22T is finding one. They can be scarce. | I think that I will try to find a target model somewhere and go with that.
Does nyone know what a good price for the target version would be?

Buy the basic carbine but shoot good ammo and spend $30 getting the trigger a little lighter.

See my photos of these 4 Ruger 10-22's on the thread about International 10-22s
I got my Ruger Target in a trade for a bare-bones Benelli Nova slug gun. The 10-22 came with $100 cash attached. That was a a break even deal, but I have several slug-guns already. So I am happy.
The International was $260 at an auction with $60 for the scope, making it a $320 total.
The exotic was a plain-jane carbine $130 at the same auction, plus $116 for the Exotic Yukon stock, and a $60 scope. for a total of just over $300.
The stealth was another swap for a used Escort 12 ga that cost me $200 at an auction. It remains as I got it, so it is a $200 gun.

I had tough luck spud9! I went to the site, and the gun is gone!
I'm going to stop by my local gun shop tonight and let him order one for me. His prices are always very good and I like supporting the local guy if I can.

Good luck. Even after you buy one, regular or Target, you are still going to want to have the trigger lightened and the bolt accurized. A drop in VQ trigger and spring kit will get you down to around 2.5 to 3 lb trigger pull,
volquartsen-target-hammer-with-bushings-ruger-10-22. After that you can go as crazy as you like. Have fun. Don't say I didn't tell you but once you start it is addicting to modify... can't get enough...

I put a KIID trigger kit in one of my 10/22s and one in my Charger. Wow! What a difference. $90, each, but well worth it. Now looking at barrels. Crazy, but a lot of fun.

Going to do a search for it in a few minutes.

When I find something that I like to do....I end up doing a lot of it. That certainly applies to building 10-22 rifles! I built a LOT of them had a ball doing it and enjoy shooting them.
My friends and I put clay pigeons on the 200 yard berm (actually 204 yards) at our club and pick them off with the rifles. Wind is a problem at 200 so we usually fire a spotter round, see where it impacts, then fire for effect until the wind shifts again. We are deadly at slaying those birds!
I'm a big guy so part of building one for me is to restock it using a stock that will fit me. I built 3 rifles on the Fajin adjustable stocks. Most of the custom stocks are too small for me.
On another site, the members have a competition where each shoots a target at 50 yards with rimfire then submits the target for the competition.
Building the little rifles has been great fun!
