The only mod I've done to my 10/22 Sporter: a bolt buffer.
I made mine from a 3 1/2" X 1/4" nylon bolt. Actually made eight of them in about an hour for a cost of about $3. The way the first one is holding up, I may never use them all.
I do have a cheap Tasco rimfire scope, and a home-made web sling, but those aren't really mods.

After thinking about it, if I had to choose only one upgrade, it would be to replace the OEM sights with Tech-Sights.

I am truely amazed at the number of people that have apparently never shot competition or military accurate shooting....scopes....stocks....buffer pins....for accuracy....?? How about #1...a good trigger......#2...a good barrel.....#3...Good stock....#4 Good optics....with 3 and 4 being interchangable......

Trigger work will show you the biggest increase in accuracy.

I have been debating a cool stock or a nice trigger job, leaning towards a trigger job right now.

I think I'm the only shooter on the planet who doesn't feel a burning hatred the stock 10/22 trigger group. No question it could be better, but I'm loathe to spend half again the cost of the entire rifle on a new one. Then again, I'm not a competitive marksman, so *shrug*.

tier 1 trigger job is only $35 from Brimstone and would be an improvement. I don't loathe the stock trigger but would like to see what difference a Brimstone tuning can make. Even the tier 2 job at $70 is cheaper than the lowest priced stocks I've looked at, or a decent scope and rings.
