IIRC the TD should handle them, but not the LVT.
From the 10/22 instruction manual:
"Stinger” cartridges have a longer case
than 22 LR cartridges loaded to U.S.
Industry specifications. They can stick
in the tighter chambers of target rifles,
including the Ruger 10/22 Target and
Tactical rifles, which can result in a
hazardous ruptured case and release of
hot powder gasses and brass when fired.
DO NOT USE “STINGER”
AMMUNITION IN 10/22
TARGET or TACTICAL RIFLES
I have asked about the LVT chamber in this forum and rimfirecentral.com. No one has been able to say whether it has the same tighter chamber as the other Ruger Target models. Even Nemo, a barrel guru, said he didn't know. The LVT may be the most accurate of the out of the box 10/22s, so that would suggest it has the tighter chamber. If it were my LVT, I would not shoot Stingers and risk damaging the chamber.
Thanks for your input-I feel the same way. I am just paper-punching anyways. I am still looking for the most accurate loads. So far the CCI mini-mags are the best!
If it has a bentz chamber you cannot shoot stingers..the cases are slightly longer than standard .22LR...many of the "match" barrels will have it written on the barrel...."May not always eject unfired rounds use with care" this is your indication
