I am thinking about polishing the ejection port on my 10/22. I have the black receiver and after so many rounds the eject port gets a little scuffed up here and there so I got the idea to polish it but I am wondering if any has had experience with this good or bad?

I plan to lightly sand it with some 400 grit then finish it off with 1000 grit. Just the lip of the ejection port not on the outside of the receiver im thinking about inside and the lip only. Im on the fence about doing it? I was going to repaint it but eventually that will get scuffed up too

If anyone has done this if you have pictures that would be nice?

Wow no one has dome this before?

Does anyone else have minor knicks on the ejection port? Is it a normal wear and tear type of thing to get over use?

Polising the ejction port can't hurt and if you like how it looks, then go for it.
