| New 10/22
So I was at Walmart today and spotted a 10/22 with the stainless barrel. Had been considering getting one and adding a Butler Creek folding stock, so I went ahead and got it. Unlike my Ruger hand guns it did not come with a test fired casing with date. Come to think of it, my Mini-14 did not either. Anyway, printed on the box was a date and I am wondering if that was the date of manufacture.
Looking forwarding to getting it to the range later this week. Also ordered one of the Ruger 25 round magazines.

i would stick with only the ruger 25 round mags, or the ruger 10 mags and a tri-mag attacher dealie. very reliable, whereas i've heard (and experienced) tons of problems with mags from other makers. virtually none from ruger-made products. go figure!

Is it an All-Weather? Would you mine telling us the color of the trigger group, barrel band, and if the barrel is painted even though stainless or shiny? I guess you don't want to discuss price or you would've told us? It seems the Ruger has changed some of the parts and colors since Dec. '11? Enjoy your new toy!

Enjoy the 10/22. What ever it finally becomes, it will be a keeper. All 10/22 are. Only problem you will want another and another and another. They will all be great guns.

$247 at Walmart. It has the stainless barrel and black receiver. Barrel band is black plastic. Trigger group is also black plastic. My Butler Creek folding stock arrived today and I installed it without a problem. Cut a length of 1/2 inch pipe insulation and put it on the top bar of the folding stock and it works perfectly as a better cheek riser when using a red dot sight.

Polymer, my man, polymer! Sounds more sophisticated and tactical...... And to my knowledge, reinforced with fiberglass or other hair like substance for strength. Just kiddin' with ya'.....

Got a pic of the cheek weld (if I'm using the right terminology)?
