i am wanting to buy a 10/22 and make it look as close as i can to either an ar15 or an m4. do you have any ideas how to? i have looked at s&w m&p 15/22 and they are close to what i want but i would like to stick to the 10/22 dependabity and all the other good stuff it has going for it. i am also needing to know what base of the 10/22 is best for mods and customization. thanks Outlaw

For almost the same price you could get that. the SR22 is good in concept but it only looks like an AR15
Ruger 1022 Charging Handle, Magazine Release, and safety are nothing like an AR15 so keep that in mind.

i like the m&p 15/22 but id rather have to 10/22 due to the fact that if i get tired of one look all i have to do is go buy annother stock and swap it out and it looks and feels like a brand new gun. i realize they are set up differently but that would be ok due to the fact i need to be versitile between weapons anyways. i dont own an ar 15 (yet) but love the look of them but want a fun plinker i can customize and shoot without spending so much on ammo.
as for the sr22 i have looked at it a lot and shot a few but like i said above there isnt as much versitlity to it as the 10/22 i want to be able to change the stock whenever i feel.
thanks outlaw

thanks outlaw | I'd just grab a Ruger 1022 and get the Archangel Kit for it. The Troy stuff on the SR22 is quality stuff but like you said you might get bored with it. Now if you hate plastic I understand why you would want the SR22. Really I think it is the same as a 1022 just with the Troy parts on it that they sell as an aftermarket kit. At least with a regular ruger/archangel kit you could switch back to a more traditional rifle if you felt like it.

Why not just buy a 'real' AR and a .22 conversion. Then, if you get tired of a .22 you can sell the conversion kit and still have an AR. . |

CMMG makes a dedicated .22 LR AR...it's a bit more expensive than the customizing the 10/22 route...but it will also take centerfire uppers.
i went the spikes tactical ST-22 route...it too takes centerfire uppers.
you would then, have an authentic AR.

Basically the ATI stock. Honestly the Ruger 1022 In that configuration feels more like a tactical AK IMO. especially with the UTG Quad Rail I like it. Maybe a full on 22LR AR15 upper might be best.
I'm kinda wondering how the Butler Creek Stock+ Quad Rail would be.
