I'd recommend a recoil buffer to help protect the receiver from the years of great plinking this 10/22 will give you. A few dollars and 5 minutes to install.

Volquartsen bolt release - I heard they are great. I used one made by Promag I believe and it gave me a few issues with a Buttler Creek 25 round mag - would not sit properly in the stock.

That is where I would start. Get a few 25 round mags and just go have fun!

The VQ mag release IMO, is the one that's least obtrusive visually. I'd would suggest as a minimum to do some trigger work. Either a simple DIY hammer change (VQ or Power Custom) or upgrade from there to the Kidd trigger kit. Don't swap out the factory springs.
Aside from that the auto bolt release is a DIY thing rather than buying a new one.

That 1022RB-CIII is a really nice one. Have a couple builds using that French Walnut stock. How about a visual of yours?

Mellow and blkhawk73,

Thanks for taking the time to give me some suggestions.
I have not actually picked it up yet from my dealer but have
held it etc. so can't post a picture but will in about 5 days.

I have read where others have replaced trigger parts or whole trigger units...so I will be thinking about that after I've pulled the stock setup a few times....

I don't think the 25 round mags are legal in Calif. so that fun item is out...
The stock is kinda Euro looking...a big mag would give it a really different appearance ... haha .

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Cheers to you both,

Tye
