The bolt buffer should be VERY easy to take out. Often they are so loose they fall out on their own, otherwise with a pin punch it should come right out.

Hey Captains, I know it SHOULD be easy to come out. This one just didn't want to budge with my hammer and drill bit smooth side down. I tried it once again soaking that area with Liquid Wrench and finally came out.

I am looking into a stock butt pad because the resin stock just feels uncomfortable against my shoulder. Any recommendations.....need one that slips on since the resin stock has no screwholes?

This may seem chinchy but I used black super high density foam tape. You barely notice it but it feels good and does handle what if any recoil that a 10-22 might produce. It's about an 1/8" thick and cut perfectly with a razorblade. It's been through over 4,000 without coming off and rifle doesn't slip when you stand it up at the range. Unless you want to see a recoil pad? It's perfect IMHO.

PS Your All Weahter and mine are different? My trigger group is light gray and the barrel although stainless has a light gray coating? Barrel band was light gray also. I see you've changed that, me too, I got aluminum and painted it black. I made my own picatinny rail setup on bottom, behind band.

| The basic carbines rarely cause a second look but I gotta say, these little synthetic ones are actually pretty neat. Excellent model for a lot of situations and environments. Quote: |
Any ideas on how to remove the steel bolt buffer?
| When new they can be a bit tight. Not completely uncommon that there be a dumped edge to help retain it. With a good punch, give a couple firm taps with the action held in a solid position. Quote: |

| The only ones I'm familiar with are the Galco ones. Unsure is Bianchi makes hem or not now. Either way, I'm thinking they'd be 1/2 the price of a whole new stock depending on which it was. Take a look at Midway and see what they offer. Check Galco and see if their site has a fitment guide. Another option would be wearing a shooting shirt with a shoulder pad. Often used by shotgunners, they do have their place across the shooting sports. Quote: |

| For a while the finishes were changed and the stainless models used that almost pewter colored finish. The blued models at that time used a matte finish and crinkle finish on the receivers. Flaking issues persisted and the finished was changed again. The difference with the trigger assembly is because it's a different model. The K10/22RBPBTC is a stainless model with a synthetic stock yet has black trigger assembly and black barrel band. Previous stainless synthetic models did have the silver parts as yours. Most current stainless models now use the black parts.

BlkHawk73- I finally pounded it out last night with a little help from Liquid Wrench. I guess mine is NOT the All-Weather?

We bought an all-weather recently, because it was the cheapest way to get the stainless version, with full intent on replacing the factory synthetic with one from Hogue. Midway has a very good sale on the Hogue stocks this month BTW.

I was going to go Houge from the start but I like the look of the heat shield so I dropped it. See the trigger group colors? Bought in Dec. '11.

The factory stock is not too bad doesn't flex like some factory stocks I have looked at. I was thinking of getting a Hogue stock down the road.

I personally do not care for the synthetic stock. It's narrower at the grip and forend making an already small feeling rifle feel even smaller, is less than ideal for sling stud installation, and just feels cheap. I swapped mine out for a standard carbine wood stock (I also really like the look of the stainless steel and wood combo). My other 10/22 has a Hogue stock which I also like much more than the synthetic.

My wife shoots mine too. It fits her hand and I don't notice the small feeling as it is a small rifle? The new wooden ones look like cheap crap compared to the All Weather when side by side, that's why I chose it, JMHO.
