If I took them into the woods to shoot, I'd have to carry them back with paint running out of them. Leaving them in the woods is not cool and could result in a fine if caught.

--------------------------------- Do-All 4-inch Gun Ball Shooting Target - Sportsman's Warehouse
-----------------------------------
Saw one in the store...looks pretty good...extremely dense and heavy...self healing...says it can handle 10,000 rounds from 22 to 50cal including shotgun...
Pricey but it looks like fun and at 10,000 rounds I would say you get your money's worth from it...
The other styles in similar material cost the same but only say they can handle 1/10 the hits...
The guy in the store said his 10/22 goes thru the thin ones and self heal like they were never hit but jump like crazy when hit...
Pretty cool...if someone who has tried one that isn't selling them has any input that would be great...

Leaves a heck of a mess in our garden plot, but great fun, and the deer, squiirels, and rabbits love it |

Well I found this at the local store and bought one...we'll see how it well it works...Previously all the ones I had seen did not appeal to me for one reason or another...this one is the right size targets...light weight...should be nice if it works as advertised... Soda bottles, cheap stuff at dollar store. Only thing I want to do different next time is let a little soda out first, shake them up good, then hit 'em with a hollow point.
These were off the shelf soda bottles, never opened, 185gr FMJ non-hollow point from my SR40c.
My GoPro, and a little video editing: |

I recently built a target platform with 3/4" plywood front and back with about 4' of separation. To help slow down the bullet after expansion. I plan on spacing the layers out to see what kind of penetration i can get through several layers of plywood/drywall, etc. Pineapples explode into nice chunks. I want to build a diet coke/mentos bomb and shoot that.

I can't wait for the election to get over so I can shoot at campaign signs. They make idea backboards for regular targets.

| "Poof" targets
Save up old water or soda bottles.
Make sure they're completely dry, then fill with flour (or any safe powder).
They should go "poof" into a cloud of dust when you hit them.
I like exploding targets too, as someone else mentioned, but there are two issues -- COST and you have to be very selective about where you shoot them so you don't stir up the neighbors!

I am getting cheap foam or rubber skulls that are on sale since halloween is over. Hollow out where the brain cavity would be and fill it with a red jello. I am doing this for my nephew, He loves Zombies.
