Question trigger question

Just a quick trigger question. I recently installed a hornet custom trigger group new barrel and stock. The stock came with recoil buffer. Everything installed shot great first hundred rounds or so then my trigger quit fully resetting have to push it forward al most everytime. So question could the bolt buffer make it not reset? Gunsmith has factory bolt buffer untill i get it back any ideas would help. Also gun has over a 800 rounds through it since upgrades and has been cleaned and oiled still bo change to trigger.

Thanks in advance

Here's my SWAG: too much lube for the trigger spring to overcome?

Ok so to much oil? It was preoiled when insatalled and i cleaned and reoiled. Wat would a good product be to clean off old oil and grime.

Change out the trigger return spring to a factory Ruger one. Fairly common. The aftermarket springs are lighter and just don't have the oomph to re-set the trigger forward. Would take quite a bit of oil to make this happen so unless it's really caked in there, I'd look at the spring replacement first.

Buffer - not likely. I agree with BlkHawk73. The very same thing happen today at the gun club to a friend. When I started telling him things he could do, he said he would just take it back to the gun store to the guy who put in an aftermarket trigger kit. So I told him to get the guy to put back in the original trigger return spring. You can polish the plunger also but I would bet on the spring.

its NOT the buffer...the buffer is like a retaining wall at a race track...it's only purpose is to stop the bolt....nothing more...agree with other poster...too much lube or too much crude in the trigger group......that or when you put it together you goofed somewhere along the line....but it definitely is NOT the buffer pin....

Does it have an adjustable sear...

I had the same problem twice...once it was I had the sear adjusted too far and it was right on the margin of not allowing a reset...adjusting it for a bit more pre-travel solved the problem...it was extremely minor adjustment...

The other was as stated above I had the softer trigger return spring...put stock trigger return spring back in and it was fixed...

Both times the gun cycled well for a time and then started to malfunction...last 2,000 rounds have been flawless...

Try treating everything with Frog Lube...it has worked great for me...very slick...makes cleaning infinitely easier...doesn't gum up like oil...

Also...does your trigger have an over travel stop...if not...you should install one while it is apart... I drilled/tapped mine for a 4mm x 8mm set screw and it is ideal imo...
