Like all 10/22's, the receiver is aluminum.

Try the search, there's threads on the already owned TD's. These USST ones from Talo are just now shipping.

True, but saying polished aluminum doesn't sound a s cool.

FES

Where did you read the article? I have the Take-Down and have invested a wad of money on it and I am NOT going to be a happy camper if what you suggest is true

I am completely thrilled that I was able to score the new 10/22 TD Gold edition! And the serial number is 039!!
I love that part of the money is being donated by Ruger to the Olympic shooting team
And if it shoots like it looks (and I have no reason to doubt that) This is a life buy! Going to be handed down to my grandkids!!!

Mine is brushed aluminum, I think "reciever"
the barrel is stainless.
It shoots in the same place every time.

It comes with a fold down rear sight and a rail with screws in the bag for attaching optics.
I've been shooting it with irons lately. I've had fun shooting CCI silent ammo and Remington Subsonic.
Althought the ammo does not always cycle the bolt, especially the silent. 700something FPS only. The subsonic runs around 1000 I think.
No problems with standard ammo.
The subsonic stuff sounds like an airgun or Pellet gun. Very quiet.

Is it OK to ask what one of these 5000 limited editions cost?
