Compact thicker butt plate?

Hi,

I'm picking up a new 10/22 Compact CRR in a couple of weeks and I would like to know if there is an aftermarket butt pad available that would fit. I saw a thicker replacement pad with a Ruger logo on the MidwayUSA site but it lists that it fits the 10/22 Deluxe with no mention of it fitting the CRR which I assume is a smaller footprint. I would like to add about a 1/2" or so to the length of pull.

Thank you,

X Wolf

22 kick a little hard does it? far as I know rubber butt pads are made to fit shot guns.

Hi,

I've edited my post to eliminate the "rubber" description. I was attempting to describe whatever synthetic material is normally associated with thicker buttpads. I'm not concerned with "recoil" in a .22lr, I just want to increase length of pull a bit.

After some research, I'm going to go with a Hogue Nylon stock for this one, It's a nicer stock than the hardwood stock and it will solve my LOP problem.

Thanks,

Hogue nylon "nicer" than hardwood? Maybe more functional, or you just like that look better?

The 10/22 Sporter comes with a red rubber butt pad. It does feel better than a hard butt plate pressed against the shoulder, before you even pull the trigger. Mostly just saves the butt getting damage from being set against the ground, bench, etcetera. Easy to replace when needed, if you have another factory pad and a screwdriver.

Numrich has a rubber butt pad for the carbine that adds 1" IIRC. Just search for "10/22 butt" and it comes up.

Thank you for the comment,

I love wood stocks but in this case I prefer the Hogue Nylon stock over the "hardwood" stock that is standard on the compact CRR. I like the shape/feel of the hogue and it already has the LOP that I require built in.

Thank you for the suggestion,

That particular pad is intended for the curved butt on the Carbine version. The Compact CRR has a straight pad.

Sorry 'bout that. Missed the "compact" detail.
