It's nice, yes, but Ruger-made, NO! Read the whole thread and you'll see that this is a very well executed custom job by the original poster.

Thanks, I see that now. I posted this before he said he made the stock. Oh well. It seems Ruger may be missing something here!

it's a beautiful result that he put together, but he outright lied to us, so i'm kind of pissed about that. takes the edge off a nice 'custom' job. he could simply have said "hey guys, here's my own customized wooden stock takedown." or something along those lines instead of perpetrating a lie.

Custom Factory Made LOL

Semantics....factory made or custom made........either way his posting created alot of positive responses. Besides, I don't think many people were actually losing sleep over not being able to find the "wood stock" version online. The custom Takedown is really nice and I can't wait to see what's next. The bull barrel will be awesome addition. Keep us posted.

That looks so much nicer, grown tired of all the ugly black plastic stocks gun makers use now days, would like to see a return to more wood offerings on new rifles.

I didn't really lie. I stretched the truth. It was the las one big 5 had. Nobody asked if that was the stock that was on it when I bought it.

"My new toy. It was the last on Big 5 had. I didn't know they even made a wood stock take down."

whatever, dude. pretty clear insinuation. i know i would be more impressed if i had known from the outset that you did it yourself and were simply straightforward and honest about it, but whatever floats your boat.

You did an excellent job. You made a sweet custom and you had fun with a minor prank. Looks like you got all the 'sensitive' people to float to the top. All I hear is "waaaaaah! He got us!" Nice work, sir!

I wasn't offended by not giving us all the facts in the OP. It kind of set the stage for differant comments.

Can you make these? I have a donor 10/22 wood stock for my Takedown. I don't have the woodworking equipment needed to make all the required cuts and customizing.
