| 10/22 Carbine Butt Plate
Hey folks,
I've been trying to get a hold of a steel 10/22 standard carbine butt plate. Why you might ask? I just like metal and wood. I see one on Numrich but it's been sold out for what seems like decades. I live in Canada and it's really hard to find companies that will ship internationally even when it comes to silly things like curvy bits of metal. Any ideas?
P.S. Was shooting steel at 100 yards today with my TSR100's. Man I love those sights.

I had a 10/22 carbine back around 1980. Plastic butt plate.

The older ones were aluminum.

I have a bunch of e-mails from Brownells that state something to the effect of "we're sorry this manufacturer is not export approved...". Everytime I order something there's a good couple of hours of "will they ship that to me?" before I either get the above mentioned or a shipping confirmation e-mail. Adds to the excitement I guess (tongue in cheek).

I contacted Western Gun Parts in Alberta and asked if they could get you a metal butt plate. They said:
>No sorry. It is US regulations, the company has to be registered to
>export and the permits cost 1800.00 year. Most small companies do
>not sell enough of their items to justify the costs, if they ship
>without and get caught the US fines are huge. Obama again.
That's why you can't get the part.

Ebay has at least three for sale right now. Not sure if any of the sellers will ship out of the states. The older original were aluminum. Good Luck

Mark | Mark, thanks so much. You certianly didn't need to do that for me. I appreciate the effort. That makes sense why they wouldn't want to shell out the cash or deal with the risk involved.

It doesn't hurt to ask any seller on eBay if they will ship to you. Maybe they would make an exception.
