| Good price for a used 10/22
I am looking to start a project 10/22 in the near future so if I can pick up a used one at a gun show what would be a good price? I'm planning on a new barrel, stock, trigger and keeping open sights on it so probably fiber optic sights.

I'll pick up about any functioning 10/22 I find if it's in the $150-175 range. A a gun show, you'll be lucky to fins one at that price but it can happen.
Now if you're planning a new barrel and have FO sights, you'll be quite limited unless you buy the barrel then have it made to accept whatever sights you're choosing. Only one I know of that offers them is Green Mt on their Firesight barrels.

That's a good price range ($150 - $175). You can get a new one at Wally World for $227 today - if you bought it about a month ago $220. As the national debt goes up (and dollars are printed) the dollars worth goes down.

I just assumed I could put fiber optic sights on an aftermarket barrel but now that you mention it I see scopes on almost every built one. Better figure a scope into my budget then  | |

I'm thinking the reason you see most done with scopes is 1) most builds are done to get better performance thus the scopes allows more precise sighting. 2) It's part of the norm now that people don't use sights. Look at most of the standard production rifles across the different brands. Fewer and fewer w/ sights.

Now another question that someone may have an answer too. I'm possibly looking for a barrel that won't rust or at least is similar to the stainless barrel properties for my squirrel gun. I'd like a camo one to go with a ghille green hogue stock. Or am open to suggestions for anything you may think would look good and be functional in the woods; stock, barrel, or combos for hunting. Feel free to post some pictures
