I have some targets that are like the old battleship game, My wife and I love to play the game with the targets, Right now we are sharing my 10-22, but its just because I loaned my Marlin Model 60 to my nephew (my 10-22 is the international version in beautiful shape it doesnt get loaned out) but we enjoy playing against each other. get it, you know you want it.... |

If you don't want to have great fun shooting and don't want to constantly be on the lookout for good prices on bulk .22 ammo, absolutely not.

What you should be asking is "Should I buy a third 10/22?" |

Another definite YES!
I bought one on somewhat of a whim and it is so much more fun than the other 2 guns I own.

YES. Every firearms enthusiast should own a 10/22.
Not only is the rifle useful, it's more fun than it should be.

I got one last month. It's everything they say it is. The ammo is cheap. It's pretty accurate out of the box. Nice trigger IMO. I have the Deluxe Sporter. The wood stock feels really good. Very comfortable. When you hold it in your hand for the first time, you'll know. They also have tons of aftermarket parts for them. AR conversion kits. You name it.

A Ruger fan without a 10/22 is like a baseball fan without a glove, a chef without a cookbook or a...redneck without camo?
Seriously though, they can be anything you want them to be and do as much or as little as you desire...within the limits of a .22 of course. You will never be disappointed with a 10/22.

Yes, by all means get one. My maple stock carbine with blued barrel was $218 at my LGS. Buds Guns has them really reasonable online.
A brick of bulk ammo is less than $20 (my LGS sells American Eagle for $14.88). Compare that to $15-25 for a little bitty box of .40 S&W. You can pretty much shoot whenever you want and for as long as you want.
It's built well, and amazingly simple to take down and clean.
I recommend it highly.
p.s. While you are at it, pick up a Marlin 60, too!

Buds in Lexington, KY,has them for $211 including shipping (and no sales tax). But no matter where you find one, get it. You won't regret it

Isn't it in the bylaws of this forum that you have to have one? |

You can never own enough 22's.
I have 5 rifles (bolts, semi-autos and lever action) and 5 handguns ( revolvers and semi-autos. I enjoy all of them and it's especially nice when my grown kids and grandkids want to do some plinking in my back pasture. The 10-22 is just a fun gun to own and shoot (accurate, dependable, durable and reasonably priced).

[/B][/B]B]Yes, yes, yes - get a 10/22!! Its part of true Americana, incredibly reasonably priced and a blast to trick-out with all of the aftermarket products available. I bought mine strictly for fun at the range and I haven't been disappointed.

I have two, and enjoy them both. One is the International (full-length stock) laminate with SS metalwork, the other a tradition wood and blue. Both shoot very well. I keep 4 factory 10 round mags and a couple of 25 rounders to keep things moving. Paired with my S&W 22A pistol or my Taurus 990 revolver, I am having a lot of fun with my 22's this summer.
