| Really happy with my 10-22
I've had my 10-22 for a little more than a month now and I have to say that it has been an excellent performer. I have fired over 1000 rounds with it, some CCI mini mags, but mostly cheap American Eagle.
I have experienced exactly one failure to eject, and that was in the very beginning when it probably was not broken in yet. No failures to fire at all. Just the one case that got caught when the bolt closed.
It is much more accurate than I am. Not built perfect but clearly built to last.
I would really recommend this rifle to anyone who is looking to buy a .22. I feel I really have gotten my money's worth.

The only problem I have seen with it is now I want more guns! My wishlist is expanding daily.

i've had pretty much the same experience over the past few weeks with my 10/22. i've had a few more misfeeds than you've mentioned, but i largely attribute that to some sketchy bulk ammo, and a large mag that was junk (avoid the promag, go for the ruger bx-25 if you're wanting bigger mags). my current wish list now comprises a shotgun, at least two handguns, and we'll see from there....

The 10/22 is an American classic. It is the AK47 of 22 rifles excepting that it is accurate as well as reliable. Put 350 rounds through my 10/22 today. Every single round fired and she was as accurate as my poor abilities allowed.

I'm kinda wishing now that I would have sprung for the sporter model. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and prefer nice walnut stocks. It was a lot more expensive though.
My carbine has the Birchwood stock but it looks really nice.
I sort of have my eye on a Marlin 60 anniversary model that is about the same price as my 10-22 was.

Glad you like it! The 10/22 is so much fun.
The stock barrel on my carbine has proved to be pretty darn accurate.
77ft, Federal Bulk 36gr copper wash HP, 11 rounds. I tried to keep the shots within the head mirror. I had two flyers because I was laughing while firing the last two rounds.
I think everyone should have some flavor of 10/22 in their collection. Quote:

I feel I really have gotten my money's worth. | I hear you...I bought mine when the price difference was a lot less...and I was a lot younger...love the look of the sporter out of the box...IMO it is a classic beauty...hate to change it...however, I have problems now that cause me to want a lighter gun with a thumb hole stock and use open sights...not a an easy combination to come up with considering virtually every aftermarket stock made was intended for use with a scope...have a Fajen synthetic silhouette stock o/o...if it works out will probably have to sell the walnut stock...not a trade I really want to make... but hey...

After I sent mine back to Ruger and they replaced the trigger group, it has been working well. Initially I was very disappointed since I am not new to Ruger and have always had good experiences. Ruger customer service came through.

I have the 10-22 International and absolutely love the rifle, but I have to admit my 30 year old Marlin 60 is a bit more accurate, but I am not parting with either rifle...The International was my dream 22 for years and when I got the chance to trade for one, My savage 93hmr17 was gone gone gone....

Just recently bought a 1966 10-22 rifle from a collection, it looks maybe 6 months old (pristine) with a walnut stock that is beautiful. I bought it to shoot at the range, not linger in a gun cabinet. If this little .22 is anything like as accurate as my CZ .17 hmr then it will have a home for a long time. I hear nothing but good things about the 10-22.

I bought my first 10/22 in 1984 and it has been a great gun. Very reliable and accurate.
I recently bought another. I took it to an Appleseed meet and we fired about 600 rounds over the weekend. I didn't clean it but it didn't have a single failure to feed, fire or eject and that was with Federal Bulk ammo.
You hear a lot about how Ruger's newer guns aren't accurate as their older ones. However, when I took my new 10/22 out to the range and used standard ammo, I got excellent results.
I think Ruger has really stepped up to their game lately and is making rifles that are good as they have ever been.
