| Bought a M1 carbine stock for my 10/22
Got it used and in good shape except a few dings and scratches mostly on the hand guard. I tried to stain them and no stain I tried would take, it just sat on top of the wood. I sanded the whole hand guard down to bare wood and it was still stubborn but I finally got it to accept stain. It doesn't match the rest of the stock too well but it's acceptable. Love the Carbine look though.

Thank you. I like how it looks and feels. I had a folding Ram-Line stock on it for years and it wasn't real comfortable to shoot. This is much better.

Looks good! Keep the red dot. It doesn't look bad.

Thank you. It was very easy, it's a direct fit stock. I don't know what company made it as I got it second hand but there's a few out there. I guess I'll get used to seeing the red dot on there with the classic M1 lines. I do like it more than open sights which still can be used with this stock.

Kinda a odd combo with the nice old look of the firearm and then the optic choice. I'd take that off, have yourself a nice little shooter. |

The sling is not attached proper. You need to get an oiler or a used 30.06 shell.
