Hi folks, I just joined the forum and I hope this is appropriate as an introduction.
While my original interest was in restoring vintage pistols from the turn of the century, I got a bug about 10/22's about 2 years ago, started tinkering with them, and came up with a couple of new commercial products since that's my nature - green laser embedded stocks and bolt handle extensions. I was on ebay during 2011 and after a great first year (as predatortool) quit them since the writing is on the wall - Ebay wants to be like amazon and squeeze every dime out of sellers, really kills a serious hobby like mine.
So, I'm focusing on building up our small website business where we have our own custom, built out factory and Butler Creek 10/22 stocks with built in green lasers, and inexpensive but high quality original accessories for the Ruger 10/22 such as bolt handle extensions and yes, bolt buffers - about as cheap as I can make and sell them for without being accused by my family of wasting time. I really make and sell them more as a courtesy to include with my other products.
More to the point, I love 10/22's and I'm always looking for new ideas to make them better or have more fun. Anyway, I hope you'll come and visit us, and also help me learn about other customization ideas for one of my favorite toys.
By way of contributing, let me just say (as a self described pretty good amateur gunsmith) if you haven't bought a $3 sharpening stone from the local hardward store and done you're own trigger job on your 10/22 - please get going! It's easy and if you mess up a replacement is a couple bucks. Happy to share my experience and look forward to learning from the big crew here.
