Did you make sure the takedown screw is tight?
I will double check that for you though.
I'm pretty sure I used a hex driver from my metric set, probably 2.0mm or 2.5mm. I'll have to check that for you as well.
Also be careful, the two rear most bolts are slightly bigger than the rest and need to go back in the correct place. I almost made the mistake of trying too hard to get them back in the incorrect spot which would have stripped the bolt or worse.
Right now I'm in the process of moving to a new house and don't have internet hooked up yet. I only have internet at work right now and I'm off for the next four days so it might take some time for me to get back to you.
Sorry. | I must have been mistaken. I checked my metric hex drivers and the 2.5mm fit pretty loose so I probably grabbed my standard set and used one from there. But that set is still packed so I wasn't able to check those.
Sorry I can't help on this right now.
I did double check for any wobble/play at the receiver and there is none on my rifle.
I hope you can remedy the problem on yours.

I just ordered mine today as well. I sold my Rem 522 in .22 Mag to pay for it and don't think I'll regret it.
I really like that the barrel is already threaded in case I wanted to put a supressor on it later. That would really save a few dollars.

Hello Wolfpackin,
I also just ordered one from Bud's,I was wondering if you wouldn't mind posting the length with the stock in and with it folded. I'm looking to order the smallest case it will fit in.
Btw I've had lots of problems with Winchester 333 & 555 pack ammo in my Buckmark, FTE due to split cases. Never had a case split with any other brand.
thanx alot
mike

I'd like to pick one of these up but all I can find on the ruger site is this one. Ruger® 10/22® Distributor Exclusives Autoloading Rifle Model 1296
I do not see the non stainless version. I'd like to see if a local gun shop can order one but I'd like the black version.
Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure this was a limited edition, by Talo, and the places that had them seem to be out of stock now. Not sure if more will be made.
You could try gunbroker.com, I saw a couple NIB there a while back.
Also, check budsgunshop.com. They're out of stock on them but seem to carry a number of nice ATI and Tapco tactical builds...those are all out of stock right now too.
But at least you could get an idea of what might be available someplace else or at a later date.

| All of the stuff brought out by Talo is on a limited production contract. That's the whole nature of their products. If you want one of these or another Talo product, I'd go to their site, see which distributors they sell to and have you dealer start contacting them. If they're too stuck on just a single one they normally use, find a new dealer. If still stuck after that, try contacting Talo directly and they may be able to suggest which distributors might have some.

Hello Everyone, first post here. I just bought a new Ruger 10/22 model 1296. Factory ATI stock and threaded barrel with flash supressor. I installed a Volk extractor, buffer and bolt release and a Vortex StrikeFire red / green dot. Seems to be a real nice shooter.
I mounted a scope to try out as well and my local dealer removed the flash supressor to bore sight it. The washer behind the flash hider is concave/convex, the dealer didn't know which way it went back on. He put it back on convex towards the barrel which doesn't seem right to me. Do any of you folks know the correct installation direction ??
Thanks and Happy Shooting !!!
Bill S.

I have this same rifle and there was only 2,500 made. I also saw one at the Cabella's in Rogers, MN a few weeks ago, not sure of the exact cost but it was around $350 if I remember correctly.
